What is a vCard QR code?
A vCard QR code encodes your contact information using the vCard 3.0 standard — the same format used by iOS Contacts, Android Contacts, Outlook, and virtually every other contact manager. When someone scans the code with their camera app, their phone immediately offers to save your name, phone, email, company, and website as a new contact. No app to install, no typing required. It's the fastest way to exchange contact details in person.
Why download SVG for business card printing?
SVG is a vector format — it contains mathematical paths rather than pixels, so it scales to any size without becoming blurry. A QR code printed on a standard business card is roughly 1 × 1 cm. At that size, a PNG exported at screen resolution (72–96 DPI) will look muddy; a print shop typically needs 300 DPI minimum. SVG sidesteps this entirely — the printer renders it at whatever resolution it needs, always crisp. Download SVG for your designer or for direct placement in Adobe Illustrator, Affinity Publisher, Canva (Pro), or Microsoft Publisher.
How large should the QR code be on a business card?
The minimum reliable scan size for most smartphone cameras is 1 × 1 cm. For a standard business card (85 × 55 mm), a 2 × 2 cm QR code is comfortable — large enough to scan reliably, small enough not to overwhelm the design. If you add a logo overlay, keep the logo under 30% of the QR area; the tool automatically enables high error correction (level H) when a logo is present, which allows up to 30% of the code to be covered while remaining scannable.
Is my contact information private?
Yes. The vCard QR code is generated entirely in your browser using JavaScript. Your name, phone number, email address, company, and website are never sent to a server. This tool has no backend — there is nothing to store or leak.
Do vCard QR codes expire?
No. This tool generates static QR codes — the contact data is encoded directly into the pattern of the code. There is no server redirect, no tracking URL, and nothing to renew. Many commercial QR services create "dynamic" codes that redirect through their servers; if you stop paying, the code stops working. Static vCard codes from this tool will scan correctly on any device, forever.
